Looking through the crystal.

Blue Crystal is a music video production run shoulder to shoulder with 21e9 Media. The stage: an abandoned mansion in Istanbul — peeling plaster, light leaking through broken windows, a character in its own right. Accompanying Yunuscan Kaya's song with images, the rule was simple — use the location not as a set, but as the story's second voice.

On set, the support of Onur Bekiroğlu and Taner Ayken was the backbone of the work; a day when two crews worked as one, and shots were built by chasing light. The frames on this page are the backstage of that day — the back of the camera tells a story of its own.

A good music video is half what's on set; the other half is what happens there.
