In a light that never existed.

Aero is Byadoniaa's most comprehensive work in 3D universes: cars standing in a hangar, in a light that never existed. Every surface, every reflection, every dust particle is the product of the digital fabric called material. This page is the universe itself.

Material: the fabric of the digital universe

In photography you read light; in 3D you write light and surface together. The secret of Aero's frames looking real is that every material was constructed separately — from the metallic layer under the body paint to the grime on the hangar glass. Reality hides in the patience of detail.

Nothing is found in a 3D universe — everything is built. Even the light.

The most loved of the series

Among the Gullwing studies, Aero became the series audiences claimed the most — perhaps because we shot not the gullwing doors but the world those doors open into. Here the car is not a product; it is a resident of a universe.

On 3D spaces and reality

Producing a three-dimensional space is photography thought in reverse: in a photograph you choose a frame from a world that exists; in 3D you build a world for the frame. You decide where light comes from, what the floor reflects, whether dust hangs in the air — and right there a strange question appears: if this image is the memory of a place that never existed, where does its reality begin? Our answer is practical: if the eye believes and the light is true, the image is real. The camera was always an interpreter anyway.

The result

Aero reads like the manifesto of our photo-to-3D production line: proof that the real and the constructed can speak the same language of light. The philosophical extension lives in the Journal — Material, Matrix and 3D Universes.
